Installing a GSD (Generation Signalling Device) on an Enphase microinverter system to meet the new Queensland Emergency Backstop requirements is simple 3 step process:
1- Mount the GSD in a suitable location – usually within the Solar Distribution Board. If using an AC Board (supplied by AC Solar Warehouse) there is plenty of room to accommodate the GSD within the enclosure.
2- Connect AC power to the GSD by wiring it directly to the Main Switch Inverter Supply.
3- Connect the control wires to the Envoy DRM terminals #1 and #3 via the RJ45 adapter that is supplied with the GSD. (Note that when making these connections the pre-wired resistor must be removed from these terminals first)
Enphase Energy have released a Tech Brief providing detailed instructions on connecting the GSD to Enphase systems.
