NEW Sungrow single phase hybrid inverters can operate without the grid or a battery
AC Solar Warehouse Pty Ltd, Rob Birchall

Sungrow have released a range of 3 phase (SHRT) and single-phase (SHRS) hybrid inverters for the Australian and New Zealand markets that can, when used with the Sungrow SBR modular battery, operate electrical appliances when the grid goes down.

The single phase inverters can also operate appliances even without a battery.  The inverters can provide power to appliances when sufficient solar generation is available.  For times when there is insufficient solar generation (ie at night, inclement weather, early morning, late afternoon) the Sungrow SBR modular battery can be installed as the energy supply.
The battery can be charged using excess solar energy generated during the day for use at times when there is insufficient solar.

Below are two 2.2kW fans operating on the single phase Sungrow hybrid inverter SH6.0RS with the SBR battery when in off-grid mode.  These fans have starting currents of 5 times the operating current which the inverter can supply.

Below is a typical pool pump operating on a single phase Sungrow hybrid inverter.  The pump is initially running using the grid.  The grid is switched-off simulating loss of grid supply and the pump continues to operate.

Below is a 4kW air conditioner operating on the single phase Sungrow hybrid inverter operating in backup mode.  This air conditioner can turn on and operate in backup mode.

The Sungrow range of hybrid inverters combined with the Sungrow modular battery system provides a wide range of flexibility when it comes to sizing for the customer’s solar and storage needs.   The modular design of the battery allows for future upgrades and simplicity of connection allows for fast installations.
